Ingredients
  

Burger Patties
  • 1 pound Ground Beef (80/20) Formed into 4 equal balls
Burger Toppings
  • 4 slices Cheddar Cheese Optional
  • 4 buns Burger Buns Toasted
  • 1 cup Lettuce Shredded
  • 1 medium Tomato Sliced
  • 1/2 cup Pickles Sliced
  • 1/4 cup Ketchup Optional
  • 1/4 cup Mustard Optional

Method
 

Cooking the Burgers
  1. Preheat a cast iron skillet over medium-high heat until very hot.
  2. Divide the ground beef into four equal portions and roll them into balls.
  3. Place the beef balls in the skillet and immediately smash them down with a spatula to form thin patties.
  4. Cook for about 2-3 minutes until the edges are brown and crispy.
  5. Flip the patties, add a slice of cheese on top, and cook for another 1-2 minutes until the cheese is melted.
  6. Remove the patties from the skillet and let them rest briefly.
Assembling the Burgers
  1. Toast the burger buns in the skillet until golden brown.
  2. Layer the lettuce, tomato, pickles, and the cooked patty on the bottom half of each bun.
  3. Add ketchup and mustard if desired, then place the top half of the bun on each burger.
  4. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes
