Prepare the Patties
- Divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions and gently shape them into balls without overworking the meat.
Cook the Burgers
- Preheat the griddle or skillet over medium-high heat. Place the meat balls on the hot surface and smash them down with a spatula to form patties.
- Cook for about 3-4 minutes until the edges are crispy, then flip and add cheese if desired. Cook for another 1-2 minutes until the cheese melts.
Assemble the Burgers
- Toast the burger buns on the griddle until golden brown. Assemble the burgers by placing the patty on the bottom bun, then adding lettuce, tomato, pickles, ketchup, and mustard.
- Top with the other half of the bun and serve immediately.
