Ingredients
  

Brownie Base
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
Pumpkin Swirl
  • 1/2 cup canned pumpkin puree
  • 1/4 cup cream cheese softened
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice

Method
 

Prepare the Brownie Base
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease the baking pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine sugar and melted butter. Mix well.
  3. Add eggs and vanilla extract, whisk until smooth.
  4. In another bowl, combine cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder. Gradually add to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
Prepare the Pumpkin Swirl
  1. In a separate bowl, mix pumpkin puree, cream cheese, sugar, egg, and pumpkin pie spice until smooth.
Combine and Bake
  1. Pour half of the brownie batter into the prepared pan. Spread the pumpkin mixture over it, then dollop the remaining brownie batter on top.
  2. Use a knife to swirl the batters together gently.
  3. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  4. Allow to cool before slicing into squares.

Notes
