  • 2 cups mashed potatoes
  • 2 cups bread flour
  • 1 packet (2¼ tsp) active dry yeast
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • ½ cup melted butter
  • ½ cup warm water

Method
 

  1. Boil and mash the potatoes until smooth; let cool slightly.
  2. In a bowl, combine flour, yeast, sugar, and salt.
  3. Mix mashed potatoes, melted butter, and warm water in another bowl.
  4. Combine wet and dry ingredients until a dough forms; adjust with flour if sticky.
  5. Knead on a floured surface for about 8 minutes until smooth.
  6. Place in a greased bowl to rise for about 1 hour until doubled.
  7. Shape into a loaf or rolls and let rise again for 30 minutes in greased pans.
  8. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown.
