Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced for macerating
  • 2 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 12 shortcake cookies approximately 8 oz
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar for macerating strawberries

Method
 

  1. Toss sliced strawberries with granulated sugar and let sit for about 15 minutes to create a syrup.

  3. In an 8x8-inch dish, layer shortcake cookies, followed by macerated strawberries and whipped cream. Repeat until all ingredients are used.
