  • 6 cups stale bread preferably challah or brioche
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a large baking dish.
  2. Tear stale bread into bite-sized pieces and place in the greased baking dish.

  4. Pour the custard mixture over the bread pieces and stir gently to coat.
